"Hospital Feedback"

About: Salisbury District Hospital

My husband went for surgery yesterday but they couldn't fit him in and sent him home. He was told to be back there by 10 today, it is now 9pm and he is still waiting with two open wounds as the stitches were removed yesterday. He has not had food for 24 hours and no one seems to know what is going on. Total disgrace!! The lack of communication and organisation is unbelievable. This hospital is chaotic and shambolic.

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback. We are sorry for the delays that your husband encountered, and for not keeping you up to date with the changing plans.

The hospital was very busy leading up to and over the weekend, and although we planned to complete his surgery, the number of people presenting with injuries needing immediate care contributed to the wait.

We appreciate this doesn’t change how you felt, and understand it was a very anxious and frustrating time for you both.

We are sorry we were not able to operate sooner and hope your husband’s recovery will go smoothly from here.

If you or your husband would like to talk to us about what happened, please get in touch; customercare@salisbury.nhs.uk or 0800 374208. Thank you.
