"My daughter has just had her brain angiogram cancelled for the 3rd time"

About: Queen Alexandra Hospital / General medicine

(as a parent/guardian),

Last november my daughter who is 36 had 2 heart attacks and when she had a ct scan they discovered a brain aneurysm upon having an mri scan she was then told she had three aneuryms one of which was 8mm she was told by her consultant she needed an angiogram before they could and definitely would be operating Three times she has now had it cancelled this last time today with 2 hours grace because of limited space after emergency cases came in, my worry is when she will become an emergency case herself.

Dear Louise's Mum

I am very sorry to read of your daughter's cancelled procedure. We really would like to see if there is anything we can do to help, but would require your daughter's consent to do so, unless she is unable to provide it.

If you or your daughter would like to discuss this further, please contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) at PHT.Pals@porthosp.nhs.uk or via the free phone on 0800 9176039 and give them details and they will be more than happy to try to help.

Kind regards.

Debbie
