"Poor communication"

About: Lincoln County Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as the patient),

I went to A an E after I broke my little toe. The care was brilliant, until they had actually worked out was wrong with me. Then I got passed between two doctors, both who couldn't give me a straight answer what was wrong or what treatment I would be getting. As a result my toe was just bound up. Then I was told I would receive a call the next day letting me know what was the next stage in regards to my injury, and I was sent home. The call never came, and today I've had to call A an E myself and arrange an appointment with the fracture clinic. I left not feeling reassured or aware of what would happen next and it completely undermined the brilliant service I had up to that point.

Dear Gilo89

I am was very sorry to hear about your experience in the Emergency Department and apologise for this. This is not the standard of care we hope to provide. If you are able to contact PALS (Patient Advice & Liaison Service) here at the hospital (Tel: 01522 707072) to inform them of your name, I will be able to investigate this further and provide you with a full response..

Regards

Dr Meg Kelly
