About: Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / Respiratory Medicine (Breathing and Lung Problems)

(as a relative),

I would like to thank all the staff at ward 107 in Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, for their excellent nursing care during my mothers time there. She sadly passed away n early June but while there, she was treated with dignity and respect. We her family were also treated so well- from auxilliaries offering us food and drinks to nurses who could offer a soft voice or a hug.

The doctors were excellent and kept us informed every step of the way and the nurses did the same. You will never know how much this meant to us at such a difficult time. The staff who were on that weekend - I'm sure you can find out their names- we thank you so much. You do a great job, please know that it was appreciated. We will be eternally grateful for the care given in our mothers final hours. Thank you.

Dear relative

I am very sorry to hear about your sad loss and pass on my condolences.

I am sure that you have seen mixed feedback about Ward 107on Patient Opinion. This shows that whilst most of the time we do deliver high standards of care, we do not get everything right for every patient, every time. I want to reassure anyone reading this that the negative comments and the positive comments are shared with staff and where we identify learning or a need for something to change then we do our best to make this happen.

Ward 107 staff we be very grateful to you for your kind words about your mother’s care and to know that they made a difference at a very difficult time for your family. Dignity and respect and being kept informed are so important and we also know that little things, like cups of tea, can provide such comfort at times like these.

Thank you again for your feedback, which we shall, of course, share with staff.
