"My personal confidence"

About: Warsop Children's Centre

(as a service user),

I have been attending Warsop's Children Center since I had my 1st Child 3 years ago. I came in once when he was only 3 weeks old and did not return for 4 months due loosing all my confidence after having my son.

I then made my self walk back through the doors as motivation to get out, be around other mums, make friends and let me son socialise with other babies. This is exactly what I gain from the experience! Even thought I had not got back my confidence, being able to come here, have familiarity did me wonders.

I started doing a breastfeeding peer support course which I nearly did not complete as I was so nervous, but made myself go back and the staff made it a great experience for me and helped my feel like a person and not just a mum.

After having my 2nd child the same lack of confidence and being nervous came back! Having the opportunity to attend more course, get involved in parents forum and now volunteering has done wonders for me.

The center offers so much for your children and as well as both my children getting so much out of it, I myself have got so much from the center. Being a new mum is a big change and I am thankful I had the Children's center that I could attend and feel at home.

Many thanks for sharing your story on Patient Opinion and I am so pleased to hear how much you have benfitted and gained confidence from attending Warsop Children's Centre. After you have a baby it is common for mothers to lose confidence and sometimes even simple tasks can seem overwhelming. You should feel very proud of yourself for everything you have achieved and I hope you continue to go from strength to strength. I hope your story inspires other mothers to attend their local Children's Centre and gain the support they deserve.

Kind Regards

Carol Pearce
