"Living with vertigo"

About: Conquest Hospital / Ear, Nose and Throat

(as the patient),

I have been suffering with vertigo for a period of weeks then it will pass, and come back for over two and a half years

Work are very concerned as I am unable to be under floresecent lights or on a computer, I get slurred speech, feel drunk and double vision.

I went to hospital and they refused to do anything as I wasn't an emergency, I went back to the doctors who advised my blood tests are clear and I have been referred to an ENT but could be a three month wait, I am taking a medicine but had no results, doctor won't try me on any other medicine and advised me not to take them if they do not work.

So I'm left on a wait list for an ENT. I am unable to work, I have no medicine to help and I am unable to work or live my life.

Dear Lottiepops

We're very sorry to hear that you are currently unwell and waiting for an ENT appointment. All referral letters are screened by our consultants and allocated a clinical priority.

You may find it helpful to contact our Patient Advice & Liaison Service (PALS) to double check the status of your referral. PALS are an informal service who look into queries or concerns on behalf of patients. They can be contacted on 01424 758090 or by email to: esh-tr.PALSH@nhs.net.

Please accept our apologies for your delay. We sincerely hope you feel better soon.

Best wishes
