About: Shepton Mallet NHS Treatment Centre

The only fault I could find was that the motors of the anti-thrombosis leg pumps were so noisy that they led to a sleepless night post-procedure.

Otherwise the experience was much better than expected, and I would not hesitate to choose Shepton Mallet NHS Treatment Centre in future.

Dear Mr Holman

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback regarding your recent stay with us. It was lovely to hear that you were happy with the care and attention you received.

I am sorry that the leg pumps led to a sleepless night. I agree they are rather noisy but unfortunately this is the way they have been designed to function and is not something we can alter. However, the benefit they bring in reducing the risk of post operative deep vein thrombosis, we feel vastly outweighs the inconvenience of the noise they create.

Having discussed the issue you have raised with the Ward manager, we have now decided to offer ear plugs to those patients needing leg pumps or in the near vicinity of those receiving this type of therapy, in the hope that this will reduce any inconvenience or disturbed sleep.

Kind regards
