"She always comes through for me"

About: Heartlands Hospital / Oncology

(as the patient),

I was diagnosed with Liver Cancer in March of this year.

I have had a couple of liver drains inserted and experienced a few problems with severe pain, leakage and just the drain not working.

On several occasions I have referred to the XRAY Dept. , where Denise reigns to ask for her advice/help in solving the problem. She has come through for me each time when she could have easily referred me back to a Consultant. To give you an example; I was attending the Chemo unit and my drain had been leaking, she came up to the Chemo unit to fix it.

My Latest problem (a leak, 8/6). Again Denise has agreed to help. She is not scheduled to do this but just doing it completely 'out of kindness'. Denise is 'one of a kind' and definitely in the right profession.

I can't thank her enough for the kindness, patience and down-right dedication she has shown to me.

Denise, I hope you get to see this message. Apologies, I do not know your surname.

Denise is Dr Ganesha's assistant.

I also feel however, that the time between diagnosis and chemo could be improved.

Dear Liver Cancer Patient

Thank you so much for taking the time to post your feedback regarding one of the Interventional Radiology Sisters called Denise.

It really is lovely to learn that you feel she has gone above and beyond in her duties to provide care and support to you in respect of the drain you have in place.

I will be delighted to ensure your comments are highlighted to Sister Denise, as well as to her Imaging Site Lead N Brockie, and Matrons Rachel and Debra who will also be thrilled to read your feedback.

I hope this is acceptable and once again please accept my thanks for providing your comments at such as difficult time for you whilst you are having treatment yourself, your feedback is extremely important to us.

With my kindest regards

Marie Helebert
