"Total Knee Replacement"

About: Pontefract General Infirmary

I was admitted to The Elective Orthopedic Suite on the 27th May for a TKR. The friendliness of the staff was second to none, I was kept informed at all times. The operation itself went without too much drama, and that's when the nursing staff came into their own, nothing was too much trouble for them. I can say that the ward I was on was very quiet, hardly any noise at night. The cleaning staff were always cleaning which was nice to see. The only let down was the food, and the fact that the shops closed down on a weekend, my sister came from Doncaster to see me and as a diabetic needed something to eat at lunchtime, but no shops were open. Everything else was exceptional.

Thank you for your feedback. We are pleased that you were happy with the care provided and appreciate your kind words. As Pontefract is an out patient and elective care centre, no out patient clinics run on a weekend. Consequently, there is insufficient deman/footfall to warrant the opening of the catering and retail facilities.
