"Palliative care"

About: Queen's Hospital (Romford)

The consultant for pain management said to ring any time for a phone consultation.

But when there are no consultants available and you have to wait hours for an unnamed specialist nurse to return the call, and you are in excruciating pain it does not match the utterances of the consultant that they are all just a phone call away, nor that they all will be aware of my situation.

The nurse who eventually called did not have a clue about my own case.

I had to ring back to try and get a face to face appointment with the consultant, who is not available for a month but I was not offered an appointment with any of the other four consultants, despite the original consultant saying that everyone on the team would be able to help.

Seriously unimpressed with lack of support.
