"Walk-in Exceptional"

I was reticent about visiting the clinic after reading all the reviews on here, but beggars can't be choosers and I needed to see a doctor.

I found my way straight to the walk-in sign up desk--there are signs, but you do need to look for them.

The person on the desk was smiley and helpful, amazing considering they had lost their voice.

Once I filled in the form, I sat down and made note of the time, 14:45.

Expecting a wait of up to 3 hours, I settled in with my book.

Several patients were called, and then I heard my name.

The doctor took me straight to the examination room, listened to my complaints (a cold that wouldn't go away), asked pertinent questions and did an examination.

I was then given a prescription, told how to take it and how long to expect my recovery to take.

They even let me know the pharmacies in the area so I could get it filled.

As I was leaving, I noted the time again. 15:15.

In and out in half an hour.

Yes, I was probably quite lucky with time or day/day of week, etc.

but I honestly believe the staff are always trying to do their best for their patients.

The NHS is oversubscribed and underfunded, we know this. Trust they're doing what they can with the resources they have.

I want the clinic to know how grateful I am!

Thank you.

Thank you for being free, thank you for taking care of me.

I couldn't do what you do--seeing sick and grumpy people day in and day out, so thank you.
