What I liked

I am writing this on behalf of my father, who sadly died at the hospital on 1st September 2009. However, during the months leading up to his death the doctors, nurses, other health care professionals and admin staff treated both my father, my mother, myself and the rest of his family with great respect and tried their very hardest to cure his illness.

What could be improved

The communication between different departments/wards was not ideal and I feel it possibly help to have a Case Manager for patients, such as my father, who have complex health issues and therefore require a multi disciplinary approach.

Anything else?

On behalf of my family I would like to add particular thanks to the Short Stay Surgical Ward, ITU/HDU, Willougby Ward and Nicholas Ward. And our sincere and heartfelt gratitude to the Dr who was marvellous to us all and left 'no stone unturned' in the efforts to fully diagnose and treat my father. Also to the consultant and the Admin team,who was so caring and considerate.
