"Visit to Emergency Department 30/5/16"

About: Torbay Hospital

I attended A&E with my 86 year old father on the above date. The department was exceptionally busy - despite this staff were courteous and professional throughout. We were kept well informed regarding both anticipated waiting times and management during our pathway from reception to triage to medical care. Care was taken to provide water for all those waiting in A&E, with apologies for any delay. It was evident that staff were working together as a team, during what must have been a challenging, although I suspect, not untypical day. During the afternoon we were seen by a ENT doctor who provided care and treatment in an exemplary manner. My father was kept well informed regarding every aspect of his care, with each stage of treatment explained and followed through as anticipated. Follow-up procedure in the event of a recurrence was also well explained.

Many thanks.
