About: Sir Robert Peel Hospital

I had an appointment 9th May to discuss my eyes. I notified the consultant then (although they should have it on record) that i only had a couple of days left on soft lenses. The consultant said they would order them straight away.....

30th May and i am still waiting!! I wear 2 contact lenses in each eye and have had to wear the same lenses 4 or 5 days. My eyes are sore and itchy because of this. I go away friday, i need them before then, infact i needed them 3 weeks ago.

I have phoned numerous times to be told the person who orders them is on holiday. Why was i not told this at the time? And also to be told they have no other way of ordering them and i will just have to wait until June!! Does the NHS really find this acceptable. I have never had this issue in the 20 years i have used this hospital. Absolutely disgraceful service.
