"Rheumatology clinic"

About: Weston General Hospital

Since the department has moved from the Churchill unit the service has become disjointed. Since a particular Consultant left I have not been seen by the same doctor twice. This means there has been little continuity of care as all the doctors seem to have different ideas of treatments and medication and diagnosis.

The Churchill unit was a warm and friendly place. The staff were friendly and there was even a volunteer serving cups of tea. We could talk to each other as we were all there with similar conditions. The hospital seems to be run as a business with little regard for the people using the service. The new appointment system of being put on a pending list means it relies on the patient to remember to telephone at least a month before needing an appointment to have any chance of getting one near the timescale they were given. Can we go back to the previous appointment system please!
