"Great team work makes happy patients"

About: University Hospital (Coventry)

As a mental health nurse I personally know how hard the nursing team work to make sure patients are well looked after. After my recent hospital admission I have to say thank you to the wonderful NHS staff at Coventry university hospital especially ward 33. For the past ten days you have cared, supported, medicated, and nursed me. Firstly thanks to the paramedics who quickly assessed me at home and informed me that I was "off to the hospital". I have to mention how the wonderful nurses who held my hand when I was upset and afraid , the nurses, who wiped away my tears when I couldn't hold it together, the nurses who reassured me that the cannulas, injections and blood tests won't hurt that much ! (as a nurse I can administer injections etc, as a patient that's a different matter). The nurses and HCA's who held my hair up out of my face whilst I vomited, and wiped the tears away from my eyes. The HCA's who helped shower me, (when I never had the strength to do it myself) the staff who made my bed and brought me meals and made sure I always had fresh drinking water. Thank You to the domestics who made sure the ward was clean and the housekeepers who made sure I had a meal three times a day I thank you all. I have to mention that

Without the wonderful junior and senior doctors on duty the night I was taken into hospital I don't think my outcome would be the same. I cannot believe how quickly I was assessed, had a scan, X-rays and given strong pain killers plus oxygen. The hospital staff said I was a mystery as they had no idea what had caused my serious illness. Granted it took several days to have a full diagnosis, the doctors/consultants were amazing in assessing and examining me( taking care not to hurt me, as I was in agony)

I waited two days to have a MRI, (when I researched for a private MRI the waiting time was a week, (costing £480+) so saving our NHS is vital.

From the bottom of my heart to all of the nursing team and staff thank you all.
