"Cancelled with less than 24 hours notice!"

I was booked in for a procedure tomorrow. I've just been contacted with less than 24 hours notice as apparently there's now no-one available to perform the procedure.

Although the staff member was extremely apologetic, the late cancellation has caused no end of issues in that my employer will now have to find cover for me a second time, and that a Wedding Invite I declined (due to needing the procedure) now can't be re-instated.

I obviously incorrectly thought that by attending a private hospital I would have had a seamless and hassle free operation.

I appreciate cancellations may occasionally be necessary, however with less than 24 hours notice has now made all the changes I had to put in place to have this procedure irreversible.
