"Issues with CT scan and planning appointment"

I visited for my planning appointment for radiotherapy for breast cancer. I was scared and anxious. First lady introduced herself by name but not job role. No other staff gave their names or roles - except consultant. I did not like having to go from room to room etc without a bra in a gown in what is essentially a public area. In ct scan room there is no curtain between scanner and the door to waiting area which was disconcerting when you are lying there half naked. I was told -not asked- by a young man to lie on scanner with all top half clothing off. The three people in the room stood and looked at me. I started to climb on to bed intending to take gown off at last minute but young man abruptly said to take off gown. I did but no one offered to take it from me so I passed to young man who looked put out! No attempt was made to try and cover me or maintain privacy and dignity as I climbed on to the scanner. At a recent MRI scan the staff very deft with the gown to keep you covered where possible. I think one of the people in the room was a student but I was not introduced or asked if it was OK. It was not a problem but I should have been asked. I felt very much like I was a patient on a conveyor belt not a person. I know they are busy but I think there is always time for some care and compassion and a "hello my name is".
