"Thank god for a&e!"

About: Barking Hospital

Went to walk in centre after not able to get appointment at GP. Had high temp over weekend (38.9) now coughing up green phlegm and short of breath. Oh and I'm asthmatic. Nurse tells me my chest sounds clear, temp only slightly high n although my pulse is 98 ( usually in the 60s) and reaps 21 I'm obviously just anxious. The nurse can't give antibiotics as I'm allergic to the basic ones, they can give n to see my GP if I'm concerned. On way home really struggled to breathe so diverted to KGH a&e. Was sent straight to majors. MEOWS score of 4. Given 3 nebulisers, large dose of steroids and a chest X-ray. Revealing that I had pneumonia! Given antibiotics to treat it and have to return for a further X-ray to check that it is clearing. Not impressed with this walk in service.
