"Why can't I have B12 injections?"

About: NHS Lanarkshire

(as the patient),

I have been struggling for nearly 2 years with all the symptoms of b12 deficiency. It all started with a sore tongue and has led onto extreme fatigue, sore bones and joints, memory loss just to name a few.

I was given b12 tablets and calcium and folic acid tablets. I just returned to docs as no improvement, got blood tests and another prescription for calcium vitamin d and folic acid.

My b12 is borderline and no need to injections. I have tried all other solutions and now am begging for a b12 injection, as a trial, to see if it works,. But I was told no! I am desperate to get my life back.

I'm 31 and feel 71! I have now resorted to buying injections online with no knowledge of how to inject them so again called my doc to ask if a nurse can show me to be told no! Why are b12 injections so hard to get? Something should be done because I don't ever want anyone to struggle to be heard as I have.

Hi Laura. Thanks you so much for taking the time to respond. I recently visited the doctor again and was told the don't "think" b12 injections would work and it may be extreme fatigue so I now have to wait another 6-8 weeks for an appointment at a general clinic with no help in the meantime. This is now my 3rd day in bed 😪. I called and left a msg so if you could get back to me with any help in the meantime it would be greater appreciated.
