"Walk in centre"

About: North Tyneside General Hospital

I visited the walk in centre on the Afternoon of 23/5/16 .The receptionist was very abrupt and hostile.considering they are the first point of contact people are generally anxious having to come to the Hospital,And to be greeted in this manner is uncalled for.I personally think the receptionist needs training on customer care. However the Doctor that I seen also the Triage Nurse were both very professional. The Doctor that I saw was a credit to the NHS. They were very compassionate .Constantly coming to check on me.

Dear polar express,

Thank you for your review and for bringing this to our attention- I am deeply sorry that you were not shown the respect you deserve by the member of staff on reception. It is never acceptable to be rude to any visitor in our hospital.

Please be assured that I will be immediately passing this information on to senior members of staff within emergency care.

Please continue to help us get to the bottom of what happened by privately providing me with your details – we’ll be able to trace your notes and discover which members of staff were on duty at the time. My email is annie.laverty@nhct.nhs.uk.

I’m pleased that the doctor and nurse who looked after you provided you with the compassionate care we would expect for all patients. With your details, I will again be in a position to pass on your kind words to them.

All the best and thank you,

Annie
