"Horrific maternity care"

About: George Eliot Hospital - Acute Services

During my pregnancy I always had different consultants who gave conflicting advice and never seemed to read my notes that were in front of me. Appointments were always running hours behind- not fun to sit, heavily pregnant on uncomfortable seats for hours.

Unfortunately I had to stay in the Drayton ward for two weeks before being made to have a ceserean section. During this time midwives were rude, I was hardly ever checked on and got so down to the point of self harming- being shut in a room all day and every day when I felt fine!!

On the day of the ceserean staff were horrible to me I never felt so uncomfortable and afraid in my life. I was left for 5 hours sat in my own blood (with my beautiful new baby) without anyone checking on me. They were rude to me and my partner when they finally came and cleared me up!

After leaving I found my wound had been infected in there and the hospital did not want to help me with this. After kind care from my nurse at my local doctors I'm finally healed 21 weeks after having my little boy.

George Eliot ruined my time at becoming a first time mum. Discusting place!!

I am very sorry that you are so unhappy with the support and care you received during and after your pregnancy.

I am sendng a copy of your comments to the Head of the Midifery Unit.

If you would like to give further detail of your experience please contact PALS by emailing 'pals@geh.nhs.uk'.
