My 94 year old mother was discharged from the Acute medical unit after a short stay following an MI and TIA.
The ward was very keen to discharge her and promised medication would be available when my mother was sent to transport.
She was discharged without her medication and I had to return the following day for it.
On my arrival it still was not ready.
I worry for patients who do not have a good home or back up support and are unable to speak out for themselves.
In the Departure lounge two particular members of staff could not have been more caring when trying to help with this medication problem.
Mum was sent to Departure Loung at 1800hrs when Pharmacy closes at 1700hrs. These two very professional and hard working nurses did there utmost to assist us and I would like to thank them on my Family's behalf.
