"A really positive outcome of an appointment"

I attended my appointment today. Not feeling good. Menopause symptoms abound and on crutches in some pain as I decided to have invasive and long recovery time surgery on my left foot as it was very deformed ( Excellent Surgeon though ) I was also feeling upset as yet another person close to me has insulted me. I had not washed or dressed properly and hoped I would not have to wait long. And I did not the Doctor was spot on time and helped me get through the building. After suffering Mental Health Issues for 23 years I don't know what else can be done. But this Doctor quickly assessed I was in a poor state and led the conversation well trying to see where we could go with my problems. I broke down several times, so they did a risk assessment on me to establish if I was capable of harming myself or others which I thought was a good thing. They asked me lots of questions and made sure that all avenues of problems were explored. What impressed me most was that they were going to take sometime to review the whole of my mental health background with the Sutherland before they made any further care plans. However, they did tell me that I was presenting with quite severe anxiety which actually took me by surprise really because I thought I was depressed. But as I left the building I realised that they were right. Worrying and getting upset over things I would not normally stress over. I was given an appointment which is only a few weeks away to give them the time to research my past and I left feeling reassured and relieved that I had been told by a professional what my issues were - rather than forever trawling the Internet. It was a very, very positive appointment and I feel that somebody other than my husband cares about me. Thank You Doctor and all the other staff.
