"Fear No More"

As the mother of two young children and two natural births i thought i knew what pain was... that was until saturday morning when i woke with raging tooth ache.. i was unable to sleep,eat or concentrate for nearly 2 days before the pain was unbareable and i was up at 3am crying with a bag of ice on my face trying to numb the pain... then tonight monday 1st of march i rang the carlisle dental centre and was told to come in at 8.15... i waited for a while till the dental nurse who i believe was called caroline came and got me into the room. she is an absolute credit to the nhs she was amazingly warm and welcoming and made me feel so at ease. the dentist whos name i didnt get was also amazing he was blunt and to the point but for some reason i trusted him, he made me laugh even whilst he was giving me my third injection into my jaw!!! he assured me the tooth would be out in less than 3 minutes and the pain would be minimal... and he was right! i have never felt so reaxed in the dentists chair as i did tonight and i was awake getting a tooth out!! these two members of staff are showing that the nhs does have some amazing well trained staff who are both brilliant at their job but also have personalities that shine through. i hope they get this feed back and hope they both are appreciated by their employer, because staff like them are hard to find. i was amazed at how much effort they put in making sure i was okay and reasuring me that i was in charge and im ever so greatful to them both for their hard work and dedication. many thanks victoria
