I had a hip replacement on 2nd May. The whole experience of Ward 4 was fantastic. From my admission to my discharge on May 4th. I was put at ease by the staff, although I'm 63 I was very nervous not knowing what to expect. The anesthetist put me even more at ease explaining everything that was going to happen during the procedure. As I came round after the op the 2 recovery nurses treated me as if I was the only patient the had delt with that day. Back on the ward, the best cup of tea and toast were made for me. On the3rd the physio's had me on my feet and walking without pain for the first time in 10 months. Their help was invaluable. The auxiliary staff were polite and had fantastic sense of humour, the banter between us all was just what you need to help recovery. Discharge on the 4th was easy everything was explained from pills to exercises and follow up appointments.
Thank you to all the Drs, Nurses and auxiliary staff who looked after and cared for me over my time on ward 4. I will be annoying you again with my follow up appointments.!!
I would recommend anyone with a choice of hospital to opt for Heatherwood. I live 10 minutes from Wexham park but would choose Heatherwood.
