"frequent trips to hospital and life saving care from paramedics"

About: Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance

(as the patient),

I have been aided by the paramedic service 11 times approximately since the 1st of January. I have life threatening heart problems which are very difficult to manage. After phoning 999 excellent advisers talk you through what to do till help arrives and then after wards, kind and empathy showing paramedics.

Last weekend, yet again, the paramedics looked after me. I had been discharged from coronary care the day before, but unfortunately, my heart went into extreme tachycardia, andI I had severe chest pain. I was going into shock at that time, as my blood pressure too, was very high. Paramedics, got my blood pressure and heart rate down a bit after initially doing an ecg and checking my oxygen sats and sugar levels. I was given pain relief and continually monitored all the way to hospital by a caring crew.

I have no doubt that the ambulance crew saved my life last Saturday, I am so very grateful to them for this and to all the other paramedics who have looked after in this year alone. Thank you all so very much. You do a great job! What would we do without you all. x

Dear Pippabubbles

Thank you so much for sharing your experience.

It sounds like it has been a difficult few months for you and therefore I was really pleased that we have been able to help you when you needed us. It is especially pleasing to hear your positive feedback about all parts of our emergency service, from your initial 999 call to the care provided by our ambulance crews.

I wish you well with your recovery.

Take care

Martin.
