In these days when it's only too easy to criticise, I wanted my positive experience placed on record.
I was referred by my GP to the Emergency Gynaecology Assessment Unit on Monday where I was assessed.
I was referred for a scan on the Wednesday and had surgery on the Thursday.
Being an emergency unit I expected to wait and think it reasonable for staff to expect us to tolerate that. I had no problem with the waiting times I experienced.
All of the staff I met treated me with care and did their upmost to help me maintain my dignity and manage the pain.
Of particular note were the staff who performed the scan and all the individuals involved in the surgery.
The EGAU are a great team from the receptionists up and I hope they get recognised for that and used as a benchmark for other departments.
"Considerate, polite, respectful and caring"
