"Great hospital"

About: Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital

My husband was admitted on 2/5/16 after suffering a cardiac arrest after treatment at the Freeman hospital he was retuned to Critical Care for 5 days and then moved to ward 10 coronary care where he still is, so many staff have looked after him it is difficult to remember them all, the care shown to both my husband and myself has been amazing, I only ask you to get him home soon.

My only criticism of this amazing hospital is that for a brand new state of the art hospital is that they have no facilities for families that for whatever reason need to stay beside there loved one who is ill, maybe you need to look at this.

Dear Madam,

I am so sorry that you and your husband have had such a tough time of late - I can only imagine how frightening it must have been for you both.

I can also appreciate just how anxious you are to have him home safely and I'm sure our teams are doing all they can to make this happen.

Thank you for your lovely account of care at The Northumbria - it's very reassuring to hear you describe the care as amazing. I will be sure to pass on your kind review to the teams on critical care and the cardiology unit. They 'll be delighted to receive it.

I am very sorry that you weren't able to stay in the hospital when you wanted to. We do have facilities for families staying over - we have a extra beds for new fathers, and a purpose built bedroom with shower facilities off Critical care, as well as a larger relatives room. If you werent given access to this I can only imagine that it was because they were already full - I am sorry.

With all our best wishes for an excellent recovery for your husband - please take care of yourselves,

Annie
