I went to speak to the psychiatrists about stress and work and difficulty sleeping. I did not get on with the consultant who simply stated that everything I told them about which was causing me stress was not happening. I was kept for 3 weeks as a voluntary patient and told that contrary to the law and the information leaflets provided I could only leave if I got the on call doctor to officially sign me out and discharged myself even though I had not received any counselling. I believe this directly contributed to the loss of my job. Insisting that I wanted to be referred to a service which could help since the doctor I was seeing had been pushing to put me on medication since our introduction, before I even told them why I was there. I was told they could not force me to take medication, however this is only orally. Patients who refuse oral medication are injected with much stronger medication. The mental health system is the perfect example of why nobody should be paid by one party for a service done to a second party. Statistically the doctor has treated another case while factually they have provided terrible service and failed to do their job as described by any dictionary.
