"Please be advised that Mr George ..."

About: Royal Free Hospital

(as the patient),

Anything else?

Please be advised that Mr George Grou, who was a former employee at the Royal Free as an Operating Department Technician, passed away on 17 February 2010. He was initially admitted on 11 November 2009 as an orthopaedic patient on Ward 5 North A, but subsequently a cancer patient on Ward 11E. He was transferred from that ward to the Marie Curie Hospice where he passed away.

Throughout his various and extensive treatments, the medical and nursing teams involved in his care was absolutely second to none. He was made to feel comfortable and treated with respect at all times. The nurses and doctors always found the time to talk to relatives and we were therefore fully understanding of the issues facing him.

On behalf of the whole of Mr Grou's family, I wish to extend our gratitude for all the care he received and the endless efforts of the medical staff who ceaselessly endeavoured to improve his life, sadly to no avail.

If possible, could those staff at the Royal Free with whom George Grou worked be informed of his passing. Those would include the Porters and the Operating Department.

Please accept our sincere thanks

from

Mrs S Greewin - sister of Mr George Grou

Please accept our sincere condolences for your brother’s death. It is very thoughtful of you to take the time to make such lovely comments and they have been passed on to the wards concerned. It is reassuring to hear that Mr Grou and his family experienced such good care while in hospital. We have also informed staff in both portering and the operating department who were very sorry to hear of Mr Grou’s passing.
