"Impossible to get through"

About: Croydon University Hospital

Calling the orthopaedics department is useless. I'm supposed to be having physiotherapy twice a week; it's been three weeks since I was referred and I haven't had any contact from the department at all.

How am I supposed to get well without treatment? Will the NHS be as happy to correct the things that go wrong because this department can't even be bothered to pick up their phone?

Dear Anonymous

I am very sorry that you have encountered difficulties in contacting our orthopaedic department. We have experienced intermittent problems with our telephone system, which we are in the process of upgrading.

If you need any assistance in obtaining an update on your physiotherapy treatment, please contact our PALS office on 020 8401 3210 or at ch-tr.pals@nhs.net. Our staff there will be able to contact the relevent team to let them know of your concern and ensure that you are informed of the current position.

Kind regards

Graham Richardson, Deputy Manager PALS and Complaints
