When admitted to the priory staff were highly welcoming and I was offered my dinner as soon as I arrived even though it was late, I was shown to my bedroom straight after which was comfortable and also had an extra of a tv. Staff continued to be friendly yet professional throughout my admission and 1:1s where offered when my named nurse was on shift. Food was lovely and you were able to order from a menu of a few options everyday.
There were shop runs throughout for patients to get necessities from the local shops and town leave was also facilitated where possible. Staff also facilitated home leave even if this was far away. I also got the opportunity to meet the onsite director who always showed an interest in my care. The ward manager would also sit and chat and listen to concerns throughout. There was a routine and structure for the day which was helpful and plenty of OT activities throughout the week including the use of the onsite gym. Medication was always given on time. Thought the admission staff on the admissions ward where highly supportive , non judgemental and friendly which made a stay in hospital more helpful. My named nurse who was a senior clinical nurse was highly supportive and efficient throughout my stay. I am thankful for all of the staffs input throughout my stay and hope they continue the hard work.
