"Bluebell ward and children's ED were fantastic"

About: Lister Hospital

We had to bring my seven year old grandson in after a fall. He is on the autistic spectrum so administering treatment was always going to be a challenge. The team were totally focused on doing what was best for him whilst still being considerate of mum's feelings. In radiology they were also great including the member of staff letting him see what the inside of his hand looked like. We had to bring him into Bluebell on Monday to have a general anaesthetic to treat the wound. Every step of the way, everyone went out of there way to achieve the best outcomes. I cannot praise them enough, particularly the play specialist who really gained his trust. Huge thanks to everyone in both departments.

We know that the children's team will say that your experience for them was all in a day's duty, but your feedback shows that it is much more than that - their attention to detail gets the experience right, leaves people feel reassured that their loved ones - in this case your precious grandson - is safe in their hands.

And that's special - thanks for the feedback, which we're just sending across to them - we know that they will enjoy reading it.

In the meantime, we do hope that your grandson is making a good recover and for all the right reasons of course, has no reason to return to our children's A&E any time soon!!
