my 17 month old baby fell from the window , i was obviously devastated , was told he had fractured skull and may be damage to eye , i was told we would be transferred to manchester hospital , the nurse in paed a+ e then said "oh my shift was sposed to finish at 2 i might have to go with you to manchester" then her attitude changed she was rude to relatives who were obviously concerned about the baby as i was , i was devastated my son lay there in agony , when i kept asking questions about what was happenin and hopefull minimal damage she made remarks like, well obviously hes fallen from window expect some damage he cant be that lucky, is this someone who wants to be in that job?
It is not first time i have seen some staff in paed a+e behave cold towards ppl , just to mention manchester hospitals care was fantastic , brilliant puts some of the Bolton staff I have experienced to shame.
i have also been in maternity and when i felt my legs numb i buzzed and asked for pain relief only to be told, no need to buzz get up and ask. i hope things change as manchester proved u can be nice to ppl and do a fantastic job at same time
