"Excellent, compassionate and caring service"

About: University Hospital Hairmyres

(as a relative),

I have had a lot of contact recently with health and social services mostly frustrating and unhelpful. However, accompanying my sister recently to an out patient appointment I was comforted by the doctor, Dr Campbell, who we saw at Hairmyres Hospital. He was calm, caring and compassionate even in difficult circumstances. He reignited my faith in healthcare professionals. He, in his manner, approach, behaviour and attitude demonstrated person centred care at its best - which cost the service no more than frustrating, unhelpful care would have.

Dear TMD,

Thank you for your kind and positive feedback about the care of your sister. I am so glad you found Dr Campbell to be Calm, Caring and Compassionate. I will certainly let him know how this help both you and your sister at what sounds like a very difficult Time. I am sorry to hear that this has been an exception in your experience of health and social care services and if you wish to give us more information on the times you found the service unhelpful, I would be keen to hear your suggestions as to how we could have done better.

I hope in the future you have more experiences similar to the consultation with Dr Campbell. Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback.
