"I wanted help but felt it was 'their way or the high way'"

(as the patient),

I was diagnosed with BPD ( borderline personality disorder ) back in 2006 by GLOUCESTERSHIRE mental health team and recieved excellent care and consistency by an excellent team of CPN's and maintained regular two way contact with that team for well over a year.... i then moved up to worcester and into the care of WORCESTERSHIRE mental health team in Droitwich. Now i have a very complex disorder that had already involved a year prior to my diagnosis of meetings, etc etc to be diagnosed with BPD, BUT the team at Droitwich dismissed this diagnosis and for the first few times i met up they kept calling it Bipolar disorder!! when i showed them my report and diagnosis sheet from Gloucestershire they seemed very dismissive with it. I had a CPN who never smiled, never put me at ease . made me feel i had a fictional disorder (im not sure the very experianced Psychiatric DR in Gloucester would appreciate that) let alone me who had been diagnosed with this then left to live with it....... so basically i tried to attend for a few meetings but felt very unable to connect with my cpn which as we all know IS A NESSASARY thing to do. I did not attend and put in a complaint to the trust asking for another CPN.....they blamed my condition and said i was unable to commit and interact with mental health professionals......STRANGE THAT I MANAGED IT FOR OVER A YEAR WITH THE SAME CPN IN GLOUCESTER!!!!! I was honest at all times and said maybe it was just a clash of personalitys which isnt ideal but can happen and asked to see another cpn and continue my road to recovery and have heard nothng since!!!!

Not worth the paper their 'plans and support care manifesto' is written on NOT IN COMPRISMENT to gloucestershire......i have even asked my partner if we could move back to gloucestershire in order to recieve the care i feel as a mother to a young family with this condition, i deserve...thats how bad and how little support i have recieved under Worcestershire mental health team since moving up here.

I am sorry that you felt the Trust did not provide the high standard of care and treatment we aim to provide. We are not aware of a complaint being made so if you would like to contact me I will ensure that we investigate what happened.
