I felt very dissatisfied with my visit to the day surgery. Upon arrival I was greeted by the receptionist who took my name but when I asked if I could drink water before surgery (with local) they did not know and said they had to check but never got back to me. I then went into the ward where I waited to be seen. A nurse came upto me shortly after I arrived and said I will be first in line to have my surgery so should only have a small wait and as I get anxious I was quite happy to get it over and done with. However despite this, five and a half hours later I was seen last. I was disappointed as there were no updates and no one came to check on me to see how I was. I asked for a drink of water twice and the first time the nurse had to check if I could drink (I was a little unsure about this as I thought the nurse would know) but no one got back to me so I had to ask again. I felt like I had been forgotten as the communication was poor on the day.
"Disappointing..."
