"I was taken to hospital after a heart attack"

About: Rotherham Hospital / Cardiology Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust

(as the patient),

I went to Rotherham District General Hospital having had a heart attack. The ambulance crew and emergency doctor were very kind and treated me with respect. The casualty staff were very efficient and cheerful which certainly helped me stay calm. When I was transferred up into A1 I found I only had a locker and a bed, no table or chair. I eventually required both. The doctors nursing staff were marvellous and nothing was too much trouble. However, the food was very boring and certainly in short supply, no choice to tempt the appetite. My son came to collect me on the day they discharged me but I had to wait 3 to 4 hours before I received my pills to come home. This is the department that lets the staff down. I cannot praise the nursing staff enough, but there needs to be better organisation in the above department.
