I must compliment the Urology Department for its ability to deliver a caring service with a real sense of humanity.

All staff from

Consultant to Care Assistant seem to make an effort to put patients at ease and help them with the natural anxieties they have when they visit the clinic. Every effort was made to help with assisting me with a procedure which I need to carry out at home.

I was made to feel that I could contact the Unit should I experience any problems, and was given literature to read before I left the Unit and offered a follow up phone call or visit.

All of this in spite of a very very busy clinic. This performance must mean that staff feel valued on the Unit by their immediate professional colleagues, and that a good sense of Team spirit exists. This demonstrates in my view the way to build on success at RCH Treliske. Not the fanciest or best decorated part of the hospital, but what takes place seems to be the what matters in health care in the National Health Service.
