"Waiting list"

About: William Harvey Hospital (Ashford)

The ENT website states that the waiting list from GP referral to treatment is 26 weeks in 9 out of 10 patients. My wife has been waiting for 36 weeks for a Parathyroid operation and was told this morning by the person on Waiting Lists that they hadn't a clue when she would have the treatment. This is notwithstanding the fact she had her pre op 5 weeks ago. What was the point of that?! I have taken it up with PAL who say they have passed it on to the Board, but I never receive a reply. The consultant originally said that the treatment was likely to before Xmas. The surgeon then said April, but now the waiting list people say they have no idea. It's difficult to see my wife become more depressed by the day. The lack of care and communication is incredible.

I am so sorry to hear about the delay to your wife's operation.

I will speak to the PALS team and ask what the hold up is so that I can make further enquiries.
