"Arnbrook Children's Centre"

About: Children & younger people's services / Gedling Healthy Family Team

(as a service user),

Attended the baby clinic here which is a dreadful centre, mums aren't allowed to take their pushchair into the baby clinic room, it has to be left out in the open and the baby taken out of the pushchair in the cold and wet (when raining), woefully inadequate. The staff I've come into contact with are unhelpful and belligerent. One of only two clinics in the area so kind of have you over a barrel, shocking that this is all the community has to offer.

Thank you for your comments.

As a Trust we strive to provide a good service to our service users and I am sorry that you have had a poor experience and that you found the staff unhelpful. I will be sharing your comments with the staff, so they are aware that you found them unhelpful. We always try to resolve any issues or concerns that clients may have and I can only apologise again for your experience.

Due to health and safety regulations, unfortunately we are unable to allow pushchairs into the building. There are however three options where you can leave your pushchair at Arnbrook whilst attending the centre, If you would like to discuss this further you can contact Jenny Wells Children's Centre Coordinator on 0115 9165010.

In terms of clinics it might be helpful for you to speak with your local Health Visitor as they may be able to signpost you to alternative options

There are only 2 clinics that offer baby weighing in the area which in itself is ridiculous, one is too far for me to get too and this one is, in my view. inadequate. The contact details for the centre are also out of date and bounce back so you can't complain directly even if you want to. The health visitor on the day did not have any useful information in relation to other options and centres available. sad that this is the state ofmy post maternity support, there is more assistance available online.

I don't see the point of a meeting, I have raised the same issue every month for the last 8 months, every time I've attended the baby clinic and just because I've now left a negative review for the centre you want a meeting. I also emailed the administrator for the website on Wednesday to inform them about the email addresses and so far nothing has been done about that either.
