I recently visited Poole A&E and was assisted by a receptionist, a Staff Nurse and a Doctor. Despite it being a bank holiday weekend they did not make me feel rushed at all, and took the time to really listen to what I was saying. I was immensely impressed with their kindness and personable nature and they really took extra care to ensure I was fully educated on the treatment. In short, at a time where I was a little upset and concerned, they were absolutely lovely.
A sign on the wall educates people waiting about how they prioritise patients and expected waiting times to be seen for an initial discussion which I found very clear and comprehensive. The waiting time for the initial discussion said 30 minutes, but I was seen in 10. It was decided that I should then be seen by a doctor, for which the wait was slightly longer; however, I was extremely pleased by the fact I presented at A&E at 8.45pm and was out by 10.30 considering the busyness of the waiting room and the fact it was a bank holiday sunday.
"Very happy with a visit to A&E"
