I suffer with Addisons disease and in May 2015 my GP started referring my case to your endo dept for advice.
After several visits and tests, which showed nothing, my symptoms slowly became worse leading to frequent sickness and diarrhoea spells.
I went to Southampton General for a second opinion, who after doing a cortisol day curve, found out why I had been feeling so debilitated.
They gave me an easy short and long term recovery plan and are now looking to see why my body isn't absorbing the H/C medication as it should.
Some simple steps included just changing the same medication, but slightly different quantities and taking it at different times of the day.
They also found out that my thyroid levels were very wrong.
No wonder I had been feeling so rubbish!
I feel totally supported with Southampton, and my GPs are asking why Basingstoke don't offer the same support. Southampton also trained me in how to self inhect h/c and arranged for my GP to prescribe this for me.
