Had MRI scans in January after referral from my GP. Went back for the results where (a) my appointment was 30 minutes late due to the Doctor arriving at work late, (b) no apology was offered for keeping me waiting (but the practice has a policy where if a patient is late, they will not be seen) and (c) no explanation of my scan results was offered - just blithely told I was being referred to MSK and to wait to hear for them......essentially I was in and out within 60 seconds due to the Doctor having to claw time back because she was late.
No confirmation of appointment from MSK clinic - despite it now being April - and had to go back to my GP as my knee is getting worse. Saw the nurse who was so much better than the Doctor and explained all about the results of my scans and how they would most likely be treat by MSK and advised me to contact MSK as I should have been seen by this point.
Contacted MSK who (surprise, surprise) didn't answer the phone but did call back and leave a voicemail saying that I'm "near the top of the queue" and will receive a letter within the next 2 weeks telling me my appointment will be 4 weeks after that......end of May/beginning of June hopefully. Brilliant - almost half a year just to be seen...and Hospitals wonder why people prefer to visit A&E - at least you receive treatment there.
All in all, I am completely dissatisfied with the service and lack of communication received......and this is from someone who works with the NHS and fully supports it.
