"MRI experience"

About: Bristol Royal Infirmary

On arrival I was told my one member of staff to get changed into a gown - I was walked in on whilst getting changed. Then I was told actually I needed to get changed back into my clothes.

Canular - took at least 4 attempts.

Left arm - did not listen when I advised against using the left veins as nurses always struggle to get blood/find the veins on this side. They struggled to get it in.

Injections - by injection number 2, the technician was holding the canular in with their hand and kept moving it.

Pain - did not listen when I said I was in pain and the MRI scan continued.

Swelling - after the scan my arm was really tight, had swelled up and was in lots of pain - the technician admitted they had messed up and had injected into my tissue instead of my veins.

Was left in a changing room on my own as they continued with next patient.

I feel that as a patient I was treated with no care nor caution, and nor was a sincere apology received.
