"I have someone to fall back on"

About: Bromley Healthcare / Bladder and bowel management (continence)

(as the patient),

I have been coming to the Addington Road Bowel Clinic for a number of years. I have been cathaterising for over 20 years now and I don’t know how I would manage without this service. I have had so much support from Rachel. It is so helpful to know that I have someone to talk to about my problem.

A year ago I went through a tough time when I had 5 months of continuous UTIs and couldn’t get off antibiotics. I had to change the cathaterisation process with Rachel. Now I am off antibiotics and I feel very strongly that I couldn’t have managed to get better without her. I have so much appreciation for what they have done for me and my family.

I have made peace with the fact that this is going to be an ongoing condition but I find it so helpful to know that when in crisis, I have someone to fall back on

Thank you for your posting. I will ensure Rachel sees this.

I am so pleased that she has provided you with such great support that you are living with catheterisation rather than allowing it to take over your life!

Thank you again

Kind regards

Amanda
