After 6 weeks of waiting for an appointment, went to pediatric clinic in dewsbury health care Wellington road Dewsbury,

I was sent by my doctors for Athletes toes and generally dried skin on heels of my both foot, the nurse hardly opened up my toes to have a look to see the problem and said cant do anything about it. told me to use Dactarin spray and that's it.

for my heels they didn't do a good job either, lots of skin was still hanging about.

I thought whats the point waiting 6 weeks and you get no treatment for fungus in toes.

not a happy bunny.

Thank you for getting in touch about your recent appointment with one of our podiatrists.

I am sorry you were disappointed with the outcome of the appointment. I am not aware of your personal history so cannot comment in great detail but would like to stress that it is common practice for podiatrists to suggest an appropriate over the counter treatment for a fungal infection. Podiatrists are not able to treat these types of infections, they can confirm what they are and give options for self-care, which is what I believe was done. When treating hard skin we will usually remove what we can safely and in many cases the patient can then be advised how they can safely improve or maintain this at home.

Most GPs are aware that this what is offered by podiatrists and we are sorry that you were expecting something different.

We would usually expect patients who have a non-emergency referral to wait around 6-8 weeks for an appointment.
