"A&E visit and follow up"

About: Basildon University Hospital

I attended A&E with my husband who'd had an accident in the garden and suffered a head injury and wounds to his hand and concerns he had broken his hand.

During the 4 hours we were there he was assessed and sent for x-rays and a CT scan of his head.

He was cleaned up, bandaged up and given antibiotics and a tetanus injection and received excellent care from the nurse practitioner throughout his visit.

During the following week he had to attend the dressing clinic in A&E on several occasions and all of the staff who redressed his hand were friendly, caring and efficient.

We were so impressed with the care he received and can't thank the staff enough.
