I am a 47 years old dialysis nurse working in one of the NHS hospital in London. Since last year September my vision is blurred so I started using varifoccal glasses and was getting worse day by day, hence I went to my optician last February which revealed left cataract and was referred to my GP. Recently I got an appointment for cataract assessment at Moorefield’s
Barking on 18/05/2016.I was worried because I struggled a lot to deliver a safe treatment to my patients under my care. On 19 th I had a fall while travelling to work since I missed a stair case in the tube station. One of my friends advised me to go to Moorfield’s A&E so I went to the A& E on 21/03/2016. Within 3 hours I was seen was diagnosed with bilateral cataract by the consultant. I was tearful but the consultant reassured me that they will try and escalate my case. All the team in A& E is excellent especially the consultant who is very compassionate and brilliant doctor, managed to give me the date as April 1st for my surgery. Now I am recovering from my surgery and waiting for the right eye surgery. I take this opportunity to thank all the staffs and doctors at Moorfield’s city Road for the excellent care I received
